Chernobyl doll by KasFEAR Chernobyl doll by KasFEAR
I took this in Pripyat, the abandoned town near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The doll had proberly been there since the accident in 1986.

Love this picture. Stark, barren and really captures the essence of Pripyat. Just makes you want to see and experience more of the area.

seeing picture of Pripyat, for me, its like we came back to the past. the remnant of the past now frozen by the radiation.

It is so sad. A doll once loved and now no one dares retrieve it for it is as potentially cursed as any modern day item can be.

This was probably taken in Pripyat, a city near Chernobyl. Pripyat was the home to the workers and their families who worked in and around the nuclear site, and the radiation there is not as concentrated as it is nearer to the plant. Plus, your tour guide (because you take a tour through the city) has a Geiger counter, a small, portable device used to measure amounts of radiation in an area. I'm not going to spam you with all I know about Chernobyl/Pripyat and clog up this poor person's comment page more than I already have, so if you want to learn a bit more, message me and we can talk! :)

My class has been learning about this in school. How creepy, sad and terriable, but that part of Ukraine is now really creepy!!!
